"Sharing Jesus Christ With Our Neighbors"

Howdy Neighbor!

Have you ever driven past that picturesque church on Church Drive and wondered about the history of the place or the people who gather there each week?

Please consider this your invitation to stop by and visit with us. Worship on Sunday morning is at 8:30am with a country praise band singing a blend of gospel and contemporary songs. Our second service is at 11:00am featuring hymns with the organ, a choir and is a more traditional worship service. Children’s church is available at both services.

We’re often asked about the “FREE” part of our name and the answer is easy. We follow the Lutheran catechism but are otherwise an independent, locally owned and operated congregation. In function, we’re much like other community Bible churches where the Word of God is the final authority.

As a living, growing congregation, you’re likely to bump into people you know. Drop in and worship an awesome God with your neighbors.

Dear brothers and sisters,
There’s a great line in the movie “Martin Luther: Heretic” where Luther is teaching about the freedom we have in Christ. One of the astounded students asks, “Do you mean that we can do whatever we please?” See John 15 for the complete story of the vine and the branches. Luther’s reply is “Yes! Now I ask you, ‘What pleases you?” He goes on to teach how the fruit we bear is the result of what is in our hearts. Good produces good, evil produces evil. So the point of all this is: Focus less on what our actions look like and more on what is happening in our hearts toward God and His kingdom. If you don’t like what you find, start with the source, not the effects in trying to accomplish lasting change. You can paint, powder and put a bow tie on a pig, but as soon as you turn your back it’ll be back in the wallow – paint, powder and all. The outside looks clean and new, but the nature of the pig hasn’t been changed at all. We don’t do acts of holiness because of rule keeping requirements. That only creates hypocrisy. Instead we do acts of holiness because we love the Lord Jesus with our whole heart, strength and mind. If we truly know Him, our whole desire is please Him. Need a more earthly guideline? Try to be the person you mother believes you are! Have a wonderful Mother’s day, mom! We love you and really do appreciate all the sacrifices you’ve made for us. Thanks so much for giving yourself in order to give us a good foundation in life. May is a month of recognizing sacrifices. We owe a debt this Memorial Day to those who have served and sacrificed their lives for our freedom. We will do our best to live a life worthy of such sacrifice! See you in church!
