AWANA is an acronym for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. The Awana ministry is an international, nondenominational Bible-centered children’s and youth ministry. At Stillwater we have the Awana program on Wednesday nights. Children start attending Awana 2 years before kindergarten and continue through 5th grade. “Our Prayer” is the purpose statement of Awana and describes why Awana exists. Our prayer is that all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. A typical Wednesday night club starts at 6:00 with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Awana cheer and ends at 7:30 (plenty of time to get ready for school). The whole night consists of the Opening, Large Group time, Handbook time, Game time and the Closing. Rewards are given at the Closing Ceremony for handbook progress, and the top teams of the night. We have about 25 kids and 10 leaders on Wednesday nights, we invite you to come by and be a part of the action too!
